Job Description
POSITION TITLE: Programs Assistant
CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT: Part-time permanent
REMUNERATION: up to $15.00 per hour, depending on experience
ACCOUNTABILITY: The Programs Assistant reports to the Programs Manager.
  1. Provide administrative support on programs and services delivery and reporting;
  2. Assist with grant writing and reporting;
  3. Assist in volunteer recruitment and coordination;
  4. Coordinate the delivery of Harvest programming;
  5. Organize and coordinate youth summer programming;
  6. Assist Society groups with event planning, hosting, and fundraising;
  7. Perform related office duties such as typing, photocopying, filing, etc.
  8. Answering Society phone line and directing calls as required;
  9. Assist other Society staff as required;
  10. Other duties as required;
Education – Minimum grade 12 completion, office administration is an asset
Experience – Minimum one (1) year in an office environment and experience with grant writing is strongly preferred
Skills and Abilities – office administration, interpersonal and written communications, partnership and relationship building, willingness to take on new challenges, ability to learn quickly, proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, planning and organization, familiarity with Nisga’a culture, and a valid Class 5 B.C. Driver’s License.
Evening and weekend work is required. A criminal record check is a condition of hire.
