Job Description
Our 49 room Boutique Hotel overlooking the harbour needs a Front Desk Agent to serve as the face of our business and our guest’s first point of contact.  We are looking for a friendly individual who enjoys being around people and who can manage multiple tasks at once.  Our ideal candidate would have previous customer service experience and will understand the importance of responding to guest’s needs in a timely manner.  Front Desk Agents are responsible for corresponding with guests through email, over the phone and in person.  If you’ve worked in the hospitality industry before, we definitely want to talk to you.
Front Desk Agent Responsibilities:
  • Answering the phone at the front desk and responding to current and prospective guest’s needs
  • Complete the check-in/out processing for guests on Five Star Hotel Systems
  • Process guest payments
  • Accommodate guest requests
  • Book reservations for individuals, families and groups as required
  • Greet walk-in guests and guests with reservations
  • Refer guests with local amenities and venues
  • Communicate guests’ requests and complaints to the appropriate department
  • Communicating with hotel staff on the status of guest rooms
  • Maintain a clean and neat front desk area
Front Desk Qualifications and Skills:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Familiarity with Five Star Hotel System preferred
  • Friendly phone manner
  • Able to use Microsoft Word and Outlook
  • Willingness to work nights, weekends and holidays
  • Experience in the hospitality industry
